Describe your sound:
We take a lot of influence from classic and hard rock, and add our own feel to it. The violin leads, vocal harmonies, and each of our individual playing styles combine into something we tongue-in-cheekly call ‘Baroque Rock’. Adding intricate guitar and violin patterns over driving, bombastic rhythmic parts, then layering multiple vocal harmonies overtop, add plenty of distortion and effected tone, and you get our sound!
Who are your influences?:
We definitely draw from a wide range of influences! Rosalind’s playing clearly has plenty of classical influence, while Tyler is drawn to the classic hard rock sounds of Heart, Slash, and Def Leppard. The overall tone we end up with in our tunes pulls influence from so many places, including Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, The Rolling Stones, Nazareth, Jerry Lee Lewis, W.A.S.P, and many many more!
Favorite Venue to Play:
Rosalind: Carnegie Hall
Bas: Carnegie Hall
Tyler: Whisky a Go Go
Justin: Anywhere that doesn’t kick us out! (Actually, The Frequency, in Madison WI, which unfortunately recently closed shop…)
Where did you record?/Who did you work with?/How was the experience?
We actually recorded most of our numbers on our own! For our album, we tracked, mixed, and mastered it in-house (er, in-garage to be more accurate..) For our single ‘Baby You’re a Bullet’, we tracked each instrument in Justin’s garage, then got the opportunity to work with Tim David Kelly, an LA-based engineer with an impressive track record, including working with Dokken, Shiny Toy Guns, Kicking Harold, and on TV shows such as Duck Dynasty and Family Jewels.
Anything else the world should know about you?
We’re just psyched about this tour! We’ve all had opportunities to work with some incredible acts- Rosalind’s playing was featured on the most recent Deadmau5 album, as well as the TV series Fargo; Tyler has jammed with musicians from all sorts of cool bands, such as Megadeth and Black Label Society; Bas worked with MTV at their most recent awards show; and Justin has shared the stage with bands like The Yardbirds, Faster Pussycat, Poison, King’s X, The Tubes, and Warrant. Bringing our music out to the Midwest on this tour is a huge honor! Let’s get loud!
